Longwe & Moni Physiotherapists is a two-practitioner practice in East London serving patients across the Eastern Cape. Both Busisiwe and Onitha are HPCSA-registered, hold Master's qualifications, and have spent over 9 years building hands-on experience across the full physiotherapy spectrum.
We treat sports injuries the same way we treat post-stroke recovery: with structured assessment, evidence-based protocols, and a treatment plan you can actually follow. No empty promises. No padded session counts.
We work with patients across all medical aids, offer flexible payment options, and can arrange home visits when clinic visits aren't practical.

Shorter recovery. Lasting results.
Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses acoustic pulses to accelerate tissue healing, break down calcifications, and reduce chronic inflammation. It's one of the most effective modern tools for treating stubborn injuries that haven't responded to standard treatment.
We use shockwave to shorten recovery time and prevent injury recurrence — particularly for plantar fasciitis, tendinopathies, calcific shoulder problems, and chronic muscle pain.
- Non-invasive treatmentNo injections, no surgery, no downtime.
- Faster recoveryMost patients see results within 3–6 sessions.
- Prevents recurrenceAddresses underlying tissue patterns, not just symptoms.
Two practitioners. One commitment.
You'll work with whichever practitioner is best suited to your case. Both are HPCSA-registered with Master's qualifications and years of clinical experience.

What happens when you walk in.
First session is 45–60 minutes. You leave with a clear assessment, treatment plan, and recovery timeline.
Assessment
Full history intake — symptoms, past injuries, medical aid details. Physical examination of the affected area, posture, and movement patterns. We identify the root cause, not just the symptom.
Treatment
Hands-on treatment begins in the same session — manual therapy, mobilisations, shockwave if indicated, and prescribed exercises. We start working immediately, no waiting for a second appointment.
Plan & Follow-up
Clear written treatment plan: number of sessions needed, exercises for home, and a recovery timeline. We tell you what realistic improvement looks like at each stage.
Most cases need 4–8 sessions. Complex cases may need more — but we'll tell you upfront, not session by session.
No surprises. No hidden fees.
All prices include assessment, hands-on treatment, and your home exercise plan. We work with most medical aid schemes.
Full assessment and treatment session. The standard appointment for most cases.
Add-on for complex cases or longer treatment requirements. Discussed before the session.

Real recovery. Real patients.
From sports injury to post-stroke rehabilitation — every patient story is different. Here are a few.
After my knee surgery I thought I'd never run again. Eight sessions later I was back on the road. The progression was steady, structured, and honest — they told me exactly what each week would feel like.
Years of chronic lower back pain that nothing else fixed. The assessment caught what other physios missed, and the shockwave therapy made the difference.
They treated my elderly mother with patience and skill. The home visits made all the difference — she couldn't have managed clinic visits after her fall.
Frozen shoulder for almost a year. I'd given up. Twelve sessions of structured treatment and I have full range of motion back. Worth every rand.
My son had developmental concerns and we'd seen multiple specialists. The paediatric work here was patient, focused, and made a real difference in months.
Post-stroke recovery is hard. Onitha never let me cut corners but also never pushed beyond what was safe. I'm walking again. That's not nothing.

Questions, answered.
Yes. We process claims for most medical aid schemes including Discovery, Bonitas, Momentum, GEMS, Bestmed, and others. Bring your medical aid card and ID to your first appointment. We can advise on co-payment expectations during the consultation.
Most cases need 4–8 sessions. Acute injuries can resolve faster, complex chronic conditions may need more. We give you a realistic estimate after the first assessment — not session by session.
No referral required. You can book directly with us. If your case requires medical investigation (scans, specialist input), we'll refer you appropriately.
Yes — home visits are available within East London and surrounding areas for R150 additional fee. Particularly useful for elderly patients, post-surgery recovery, or anyone whose mobility makes clinic visits difficult.
Your ID, medical aid card if applicable, any recent scans or specialist reports, a list of current medications, and comfortable clothing you can move in. The initial assessment form can be filled in on arrival or sent ahead.
Shockwave is acoustic pulse therapy used to accelerate healing in stubborn injuries — particularly tendinopathies, plantar fasciitis, and calcific shoulder problems. It can feel intense during application but is well-tolerated. Most patients describe it as firm pressure with mild discomfort, not pain.
Yes. We have paediatric experience across developmental support, sports injuries, posture issues, and post-injury recovery. Family bookings can be arranged in sequence.
Please contact the office at least 24 hours before your appointment to reschedule or cancel without charge. Late cancellations (under 24 hours) may incur the full session fee. If you're running late, let us know — after 15–20 minutes without contact, we may need to reschedule.
